about the founder
Hello Lovely People, my name is Renate Riedemann, founder and owner of Resound Music. I started playing the violin when I was 7 years old, piano when I was 8 and was known in primary school as “The Girl” that sang without any reservation in the choir… I call it spirited...
I always wanted to play netball but after being placed in the B-team and not getting the position of goal shooter, I quit. I mean, if I can’t be allowed to throw the ball in the net then what fun is it really?!
I studied Violin Performance at the University of Stellenbosch and completed my honours degree in 2008. Sport really wasn’t on the cards for me…
I am passionate about music and its incredible power to lift heavy hearts, to bring joy and to heal! Not only for the listener, but also for the performer. I believe that music is a Gift graciously given to us not because of good merit, although we have the mandate to cultivate it. Its existence is also not because of our own doing. For that reason, entitlement within the music industry is one of the most unattractive things to me.
After a few years working in the corporate music industry I wanted to start my own business. I wanted to create a platform for musicians in and around Cape Town that I have personally worked with or have a good relationship with. I chose the name with great care:
RE-SOUND: “to make a strong impression or have a great effect on people”.
I love to assist people in finding a perfect musical match and to bring their vision to life. Music really does add an enriching dimension to any occasion, be it a private event, corporate function or wedding.
So if you would like to chat to me about your Special Day – you are welcome to drop me a mail so that we can custom-build your request.
PS. I do dabble in a bit of sports these days… if running and hiking counts!
