Philip Malan

About

Philip is a singer songwriter from Durbanville. With incredible skill and talent, this former graduate from the Stellenbosch University's Conservatoire, mesmerises audiences with his exceptional guitar playing. His style can be described as a combination of classical, jazz, fingerstyle and world music with distinct influences of Tommy Emmanuel, Johnny Clegg, Tony Cox, Steve Newman, Gary Thomas and Guy Buttery.

 

He is just as comfortable playing only instrumental sets as well as adding soothing vocals to a performance. His repertoire is filled with anything from vibrant original world music to well-known songs by current and classic artists. 

 

He is an enigmatic performer taking every listener on a journey of heart and soul!

Philip has been a regular performer at venues in and around Cape Town, including The Alma Café, Hamm & Uys Eatery, Mojo Market, Durbanville Hills, Loch Lynne Wine Estate and Bay Harbour Market.
