Ubuntu Jam

Paul Avenant, an established drummer in the Cape Town music scene, combined his inherent love for people and percussion to create a formidable music experience called Ubuntu Jam. This passion project hosts djembe drumming circles in the Western Cape for schools, private events, team building experiences, and corporate events.

“Ubuntu” is a Nguni Bantu term meaning “humanity”. It is also translated as “I am because we are” or “humanity towards others”. Therefore, the heart of Ubuntu Jam is to see people from all walks of life and cultural divides come together through the power of music. This simple act of sharing the joy of music not only inspires each participant, but it unites individuals! A powerful tool to remind us all that we should celebrate humanity through compassion and solidarity.

As Paul Avenant would say: “Lets get jamming!”
